If you’re anything like us, you’re so excited to see Morris Chestnut and Regina Hall‘s new film, When The Bough Breaks, which hits theaters nationwide on September 9th.

But in case you’ve been hiking in the Sahara with no television access, engaging in a vow of internet and media silence, living under a rock or any combination of the following, we are here to tell you just how much you need to see this film.

Of course, there are the obvious reasons (heeey Morris), but check out our top reasons why you cannot miss this film!

Morris Chestnut Is Fine. Okay, let’s just talk about the chocolate elephant in the room. The man is gorgeous. And yes, we said not all of our reasons would be about Morris Chestnut, but we had to give him at least one. Morris’ glimmering white teeth and dark, handsome frame is enough to keep you glued to the screen every scene.

Regina Is Our BFF In Our Head. We’ve been tuning into Regina’s funny roles and effortless talent for so long that we pretty much feel like we know her. Seeing her in a more suspenseful drama makes us automatically root for her.

And speaking of suspense…

It Looks Like An Edge-Of-Your-Seat Thriller. Who doesn’t love an exciting, thrilling film that keeps you biting those perfectly manicured fingernails? There is nothing more intense than a love affair plot line mixed with moments that will make you jump, yell at your screen and everything in between.

Newcomer Jaz Sinclair Is Brilliant. Even though she plays a crazy girl, we’re here for the brilliant acting she brings to the movie. It’s not easy to play a psycho who wants to steal somebody’s family!

The Hot Love Scenes. So, if you haven’t noticed, there are a lot of beautiful people in this movie. Beautiful people + unbridled passion=hot.

The Fashion. Jaz & Regina rock some sexy, bombshell dresses throughout the movie. In fact, from the trailer alone, we can tell that Regina’s character has the closet of our dreams (which probably explains why Jaz’s character is coveting her life).

The Director. John Cassar has been the man behind some of your favorite shows and movies—including 24 and Fringe. So he clearly knows how to keep an audience guessing (and he has the Emmy’s to prove it).

The Soundtrack. The musical score of the movie is a mix of sexy R&B meets thriller. There are definitely a couple of tracks we want to add to our Spotify playlist, including this unique slowed down version of Monica & Brandy’s classic “The Boy Is Mine.”

Perfect For Date Night. This movie is good for a night out with the boo, so you can curl into their arms during the intense scenes and also start some really important conversations.

Perfect For Girls Night Too. But for all of our single ladies, this movie is definitely a great pick for a girl’s night out too. You can drool over Morris and also contemplate what you would do if you were in Regina’s shoes.

This move is a must-see!
