Black Celebrities Occupy City Hall In L.A.

We’ve been asking celebrities to use their platforms for social change instead of selfies, and it seems they finally got the memo.

Tina Knowles, Pastor DeVon Franklin, and his wife, actress Meagan Good, actress Kimberly Elise, and more all gathered outside of L.A.’s City Hall to protest alongside Black Lives Matter activists, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

“I participated as a way to be part of producing a peaceful solution to the debilitating violence impacting our country,” said DeVon in a statement to THR. “The bridge between the community, law enforcement, and Hollywood is critical, and we just want to help bring awareness to the issues and highlight productive solutions that can bring about the peace we all desperately need right now.”
