Zoe Kravitz looked like a boss representing Yves Saint Laurent. From head-to-toe, the gorgeous 27-year-old wore a YSL Beauty all-black suit.
Suited up in style for a Vogue Foundation Gala in Paris, Zoe looked chic and classic, opting for a silver mesh camisole under her blazer. The camisole was a great and sexy way to take her outfit from the office to an evening event.
The daughter of Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz wore her hair in a low bun, letting her baby hairs show. Zoe also showcased her signature minimal makeup look, showing off her fantastic genes (compliments of her mother, no doubt).
I love the feminine smokey eye she achieved while rocking YSL, along with a thick cat eye and a sweep of pinkish/bronze eye shadow.
What really makes the suit is the fit. Whether you want to splurge, spend, or save, here are some things to keep in mind:
Men’s suit jackets are supposed to fall at their knuckles when their hands are at their side. However, with women, there are multiple options. General rule of thumb: your undershirt should not be longer than your suit jacket (whatever the length may be).
Get the same look as Zoe! If you are in the mood to splurge, her look starts at $6,285.
With your separates, it’s all about balance. A crop suit jacket looks great with cigarette pants (short) or with wide-leg pants (slim and wide). An oversized suit jacket looks best with slim-fitting trousers. A long length jacket can look great with wide-length pants. You can go for a full oversized suit, but keep the jewelry slim and the rest of the look sleek, so you don’t look as if you are drowning.
PUT YOUR HANDS UP IN THE AIR
A great way to ensure a fantastic fit is to put on your blazer and lift your hands above your head. If anything is pulling or tugging, or your sleeve length adjusts higher than three inches, your blazer is not fitting you correctly.
This is the area I see the most issues when it comes to the fit of suits. There should be enough room for you to put your hand flat in the breast of your jacket; however, you should not be able to pull the material more than two inches from your chest. Also, you should be able to hug yourself in your blazer, with it feeling snug, but not too tight. Lastly, when you button your suit jacket (you should not buy a suit jacket or blazer you can’t button), it should not tug. If you have to tug, opt for a size up.
FIND A GREAT TAILOR
For a suit to fit you perfectly, you are going to need a great tailor. Don’t be afraid to purchase an item and have it taken in or let out so that the fit is uniquely you.
Now you are suited for some serious boss-babe style!
