Teenager Discovers Her Mother Is Really Her Kidnapper

In a story ripped straight from the headlines of a Lifetime movie, Zephany Nurse was abducted from a hospital in Cape Town, South Africa a mere three days after her birth on April 28, 1997. While still in pain and delusional from medication, the child’s biological mother, Celeste Nurse says a woman came into her hospital room and asked to hold her newborn; when she became coherent, she realized her baby was missing. Coincidentally, Zephany was being raised by her kidnaper a few miles from her biological family. The teen was even attending the same school as her sister who is four years younger. The siblings unknowingly became friends. Zephany’s other name is being withheld to protect her identity. When Celeste found out Zephany’s birthday, she had a DNA test ordered which proved the 18-year-old was her long lost daughter. The kidnaper, who’s name is also being withheld, claims she adopted Zephany after having a miscarriage. The judge called this story a “fairy-tale”. The woman has been convicted and is currently awaiting sentencing. BBC

Husband And Wife Shoot Convict That Was Holding Their Family Hostage

Rafael McCloud managed to escape from Warren County Jail on March 2nd by creating a knife which he used to overpower a guard. McCloud was awaiting trial for the capital murder of Sharen Wilson. On March 10th, the escaped convict broke into the home of a Vicksburg, MS family. As the husband was heading to the garage, McCloud stabbed him and the assailant proceeded to hold the man, his wife and their 5-year-old hostage in a bathroom. The woman was eventually allowed to leave the bathroom and she returned with a handgun and shot McCloud in the head. She then gave the gun to her husband who shot the intruder several more times in his chest. McCloud was found dead in the family’s bathtub. He had been arrested in June 2015 and indicted in January on multiple counts involving Wilson’s death. The deceased also had prior felony convictions for auto burglary, grand larceny and armed robbery. Vicksburg Post

Waiter Arrested For His “Robin Hood” Deed

For the last eight months William Powell, 27, was a waiter at a Brooklyn IHOP. Police recently busted him for an unusual crime. Apparently, he’s been giving customers free drinks. According to Powell’s manager, he had given away approximately $3,000 worth of beverages. Powell claims that he wasn’t stealing. “I am the modern-day Robin Hood,” he said. “I am serving the ones in need. I take from the rich and give to the poor. What’s the big deal?” When Powell would see someone hesitate about ordering a drink with their meal, he would offer to comp it. Powell’s manager noticed that drink sales were only included in 6% of his orders — compared to 20% of by his co-worker’s receipts. “Robin HOP” was charged with felony grand larceny and possession of stolen property. He’s since been released on his own recognizance and hopes that he’ll be able to find similar employment. “I really like being a waiter, I love being a waiter,” he said. “You can change people’s day through jokes and everything.” NY Daily News

Former Rival Now Endorsing Trump

Ben Carson is expected to announce that he’s placing his support behind the frontrunner for the Republican party’s nomination, Donald Trump. The retired neurosurgeon recently dropped out of the presidential race after frequently finishing last place throughout the primaries. During debates, Trump compared Carson’s “pathological temper” to that of a child molester. The pair have since mended fences during a private meeting where Trump promised Carson, if elected, he would allow him to spearhead new education initiatives. Carson explained his support for the real estate tycoon in saying, “There’s two Donald Trumps. There’s the Donald Trump that you see on television and who gets out in front of big audiences, and there’s the Donald Trump behind the scenes,” he said. “They’re not the same person. One’s very much an entertainer, and one is actually a thinking individual.” The Washington Post
