Tony Burton, Apollo Creed’s trainer in the iconic “Rocky” franchise has died at 78.
Burton played Duke, the encouraging trainer that kept Creed on his toes.
Sadly, the actor was apparently so ill, so he never got to see “Creed.”
We are sure he would’ve been proud of the project.
Carl Weathers paid his respects by tweeting: “RIP Tony Burton. intensity and talent helped make the Rocky movie successful #BePeace.”
Our prayers go out to Tony and his family.
