This Beyonce boycott is getting out of hand! Ever since the singer released her most controversial song to date, “Formation”, politicians and law enforcement have labeled the empowerment song, “hate speech”.

There are also hundreds of white detractors that refuse to eat at Red Lobster because Queen Bey named dropped the seafood chain. No song lyric is ever keeping us from cheddar “bey” biscuits!

As the singer gets ready to launch her “Formation” world tour, the Miami Fraternal Order of Police recently announced that they refuse to provide security for the pop star’s sold-out April 27 concert.

“The fact that Beyoncé used this year’s Super Bowl to divide Americans by promoting the Black Panthers and her antipolice message shows how she does not support law enforcement,” said Javier Ortiz, president of the Miami FOP, in a press release obtained by The Sun-Sentinel.

“We ask all law enforcement labor organizations to join our boycott across the country and to boycott all of her concerts.”

On April 29, Beyonce is set to perform another sold-out show at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa and apparently their officers have had a similar, lack of interest in working the show.

“Big events like this are typically staffed by off duty officers who volunteer for the job and make a little extra income, but the president of the police union said Thursday, many officers are offended by Beyonce’s new song “Formation,” calling it anti-cop. Many of them said they do not want to volunteer to work her concert, which would give them overtime pay” reported FOX5.

Since the initial story broke, “dozens” of officers have allegedly signed up to work the Tampa show although their police spokesman declined to provide FOX with proof because the lists are supposedly being “decidedly decentralized” amongst several supervisors who will determine the final assignments.

The Tampa police department has since taken to social media to distance itself from the controversy.

“What?! @TampaPD officers have been in for days signing up to keep the safe! ” said the department in a tweet.

While “Formation”, especially the music video does address police brutality and social injustices, it’s unfortunate that one song designed to make black listeners feel better about their natural hair, “Jackson 5 nostrils” and carrying hot sauce in their bag, has been so grossly taken out of context!
