Barack Obama, one of the most powerful men in the world, stated that his post as Commander-In-Chief has made him a better dad.

In an interview with Matt Lauer on Today, Obama explains how being president has strengthened his parenting skills:

“My ability to function as a present father, a guy who is there and engaged, was maybe stronger once I got to the White House than before, because when I was a senator, when I was commuting, the girls were still back in Chicago. When I was campaigning for president, I was gone all the time,” he says.

“And I don’t have trouble switching off when it comes to listening to Malia and Sasha. That is actually a time when I can block everything else out.”

He even makes sure the family sits down every evening at 6:30 for dinner, religiously. What a great way to keep some sense of normalcy for the kids.

We love seeing how Barack has grown as both a parent and a leader!
