Spike Lee Accepts Honorary Oscar
It’s about time the brilliant mind behind School Daze and Crooklyn gets the kudos he deserves. Spike Lee was presented an honorary Oscar by Denzel Washington, Wesley Snipes and Samuel L. Jackson at the 7th annual Governors Awards ceremony this weekend.
The Oscar statuette, which isn’t an ‘official Oscar, but rather, a recognition, is awarded ‘to honor extraordinary distinction in lifetime achievement, exceptional contributions to the state of motion picture arts and sciences, or for outstanding service to the Academy.’
Spike did not hold back, letting the industry know what’s up. He said:
‘We can talk, you know, yabba, yabba, yabba, but we need to have some serious discussion about diversity, and get some flave up in this!’
‘This industry is so far behind sports, it’s ridiculous,’ Mr. Lee continued. ‘It’s easier to be president of the United States as a black person than be head of a studio. Honest.’
This honor arrives right in time for Lee’s latest highly anticipated film, Chiraq, which has already received criticism for the trailer.

Kenya Moore says she is not responsible for the petty party between her and Sheree Whitfield.
The RHOA housewife appeared on Watch What Happens Live Sunday night and responded to a caller who asked the Gone With The Wind reality star why she went in on Sheree.
‘I don’t think I went hard on Sheree. I think that I was just answering the questions that were asked. Even on this episode, we saw Kandi Burruss talking about Porsha Williams guy dating some transgender. We’ve heard girls talk about other girls and deliver the news. I was just delivering the news. You cannot blame me for that,’ she asserted.
Sure Kenya.

Man Gives Back Wife’s Glamour Award Because Of Caitlyn Jenner
James Smith’s sent his wife’s posthumous Woman Of The Year award back to Glamour after Caitlyn Jenner was given the same honor this year. Smith’s wife died rushing into the south tower of the World Trade Center buildings.
“I was shocked and saddened to learn that Glamour has just named Bruce Jenner ‘Woman of the Year,'” Smith wrote in a scathing letter.
“At a time when we have women in the armed forces fighting and dying for our country, heroic doctors fighting deadly diseases, women police and firefighters putting their lives on the line for total strangers, brave women overcoming life threatening diseases . . . the list of possibilities goes on . . . is this the best you could do?”
Smith isn’t the only person who feels Glamour should have chosen someone else to covet the honor. Do you agree with his reaction?

The Internet Reacts To Ronda Rousey Getting Knocked Out
While the Internet is still at a loss for words following Ronda Rousey’s devastating UFC loss, Lady Gaga, Floyd Mayweather and Laila Ali have said enough for everyone.
After Rousey was knocked out by one of Holly Holm’s lethal kicks, Gaga expressed what many fans were thinking:
True.
TMZ caught up with Laila Ali, who said:
“In order to be the best in the world, you definitely don’t EVER get beat up like that in your prime, period.”
Oop.
Floyd Mayweather, Ronda’s sworn enemy, had some pretty standard words:
“Just in boxing period, contact sports period, you win some, you lose some,” he said while at at Los Angeles Lakers-Detroit Pistons game. “I don’t know about this fight, I just know that you win some and you lose some. It basically comes with the territory.”
Well that was nice. Guess he had 50 Cent do his dirty work.
