New Orleans rap legend Master P. is currently trending. Not for his music or his reality show but for giving his two-cents on Lamar Odom’s health condition.

TMZ caught up with the rapper at the grocery store and P. aka Percy Miller shared that he was Lamar’s good friend and “mentor” for over 15 years.

P. basically blamed a key person for Lamar’s drug use and career downfall…Kobe Bryant.

“If Kobe was his friend…Kobe, like, owns the team. He could’ve got the man back on the team…that’s all he wanted.”

After Lamar won two championships with the LA Lakers, he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in 2011, the Clippers in 2012, then he briefly played in Spain before a short stint on the New York Knicks in 2014. Master P. believes Kobe had enough pull to keep him at the Lakers, at least in training camp.

“The truth of the matter is there’s so many fake and phony people out here now, it goes to show when something happens to ya. Everybody’s his friend, everybody love ‘em. But was that true? I don’t think so. That’s like my wife and her lawyer sitting by my bedside if something happened to me. It ain’t real.”

The rapper went on to say that Kobe and the Kardashian’s are by Lamar’s bedside for the publicity.

Word got back to Kobe who graciously replied to the allegations with a tweet, “When WE feel the need to question the support of others in moments as critical as a life hanging in the balance, then we must question the kind of culture we have created that has led US to such insensitive suspicion.”

We wonder what happened to Master P. and Lamar’s friendship of nearly two decades that he wouldn’t also be by his side instead of being so critical of those who are.
