Peaceful Protests Gathered Outside Hearing For Freddie Gray Case
Activists and concerned citizens marched and chanted outside of the Baltimore courthouse in which the six police officers involved with Freddie Gray’s death were being handed charges for wrongful imprisonment and murder. Protestors were on the street voicing the fact that they worried the charges would be dropped; in the end, not only did the judge push forward with the charges, but he opted to try the cops separately. Judge Barry Williams stated that holding a trial for the officers as a group could lead to a ruling in their favor, reducing the chances that justice would be served in the case.
