Beijing Makes History, Wins Bid To Hold The 2022 Winter Olympics
For the first time in over a century, Beijing is now a city that will have hosted both the winter and summer Olympics, as it was recently announced that it will be holding the winter games in 2022. The other contender in the bid was Almaty, Kazakhstan in a close 44-40 vote. Beijing’s strong commercial activities helped secure the win. IOC President Thomas Bach said: “It really is a safe choice.
