Feminism is a lot like delicious pizza—or at least it is when you’re trying to explain how some feminists don’t realize how race factors into gender equality sometimes.

YouTube star Akilah Hughes used the tasty treat to explain that many White feminists don’t acknowledge that women of color might be facing an extra struggle in the push for more equitable rights and representation.

For example, Patricia Arquette upset a lot of women with her acceptance speech at the Oscars.

It’s not that there is anything wrong with what Patricia said at its core; women should be making the same amount of money that men make for doing the same work. However, many women of color (especially our LGBT sisters)  felt left out of her call for wage equality because she demanded that minorities and the LGBT community stand up for women.
