The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a voluntary recall of about 22,500 Bugaboo Bee strollers due to 121 reports of brake failure, although no injuries have been reported in association with the malfunction, if you or someone you know own a Bugaboo bee, you should stop using the stroller and contact Bugaboo to get a free repair kit.

Here’s what to look out for:

  • Bugaboo Bee strollers sold in blue, dark khaki, pink, red, yellow, and black. “bugaboo® bee” is printed on the left side of the seat
  • Purchased between August 2007 through April 2009 for about $530.
  • Bugaboo Bee strollers with item code 580210 on a label on the back of the seat and item code 50100 on a label on the plastic support under the seat. The strollers were sold

If one or both sides of the brakes fail, the stroller may unexpectedly roll away on an incline. This can pose a risk of injury to the child occupant.
