Wedding bells are ringing loudly for Regina Hall, Jill Scott and Eve Cooper in Lifetime’s upcoming romantic comedy, With This Ring. The ladies star as besties Trista (Regina), Viviane (Jill) and Amaya (Eve) who make a pact to get hitched within the year, after they all attend their good friend Elise’s (Brooklyn Sudano) wedding. While the plan seems outlandish, we wanted to know what sane woman would participate in such a scheme. During an interview with The Today Show, Jill revealed what made her sign on to the film and if she could relate to it. According to Jill:
I thought it was pretty realistic. Regardless of what we do and how much we accomplish, everybody wants to be loved.
Eve weighed in on who causes women to have marriage on the brain. The rapper/actress stated
It’s cultural but I think we also apply pressure to ourselves, especially women who have a lot going on. Sometimes it takes a little while for us to find the right person because we’ve been working on our careers. And we’re like ‘oh, I forgot to do that?! I forgot to get married. I forgot to have kids.’
I made that vow. I have been like ‘by this time next year we’re going to be married’. But, I clearly didn’t stick to it, so I must have came to the same conclusion that she did.
Thank goodness she did! Watch their interview below
With This Ring debuts Jan. 24 at 8 PM EST on Lifetime.
