Apparently, $40 million is chump change to pro-boxer Adrien Broner.
When Roc Nation Sports offered him that sweet, sweet deal, he didn’t just laugh at it. He wiped his nose with it, threw it in the trash, set the trash can on fire, and then posted it on Instagram with the hashtag #LOL. OK…maybe he didn’t do all of that, but he may as well have done exactly that.
No, no. He saved his disrespect for Facebook, where he posted the following message.
“These the type emails I turn down. F-ck JAYZ Sh*t real out here #AboutBillions What the f-ck is 40 million for 5 years ha somebody go tell JAYZ to suck my d*ck with a elephant tongue WE GOOOOOD!!!!!!”
For those of you doing the math, that comes out to about $8 million a year. Most people on Earth would be satisfied with that salary, but not Adrien.
When TMZ caught up with him, Adrien explained that he felt the deal Roc Nation offered him was way below his value, and he didn’t appreciate how it was delivered–which was via email. In his mind, he deserved no less than a visit from the big man himself.
“It is what it is, because at the end of the day, I felt disrespected,” he said. “If you’re gonna come to me and tell me that I’m gonna fight two times a year, getting $8 million a year for five years straight? You got me fucked up.”
For some reason, Adrien also had some wrath for Rihanna. He wasn’t interested in any money from her, but he’s pretty sure that she’d give him her “purse.”
“Man, f*ck Rihanna,” he said. “No disrespect. Rihanna ain’t gon make me no dollar and she don’t make no dollar for me, man. At the end of the day, she gon’ give me some p*ssy and that’s it.”
It’s not clear how Jay Z and Roc Nation Sports plan to handle Adrien’s reaction, but we can’t imagine that this was a smart move for the pro athlete.
