LeBron James is one of the many in the sports world speaking out about the death of ESPN’s Stuart Scott. Early Sunday morning news came the popular sports anchor lost his battle to cancer at the age of 49. Friends, colleagues and supporters alike showed love online for Scott, who’s warm presence on television, razor-sharp wit, catchphrases and vast knowledge of sports drew fans towards him.  In July, when Scott was presented with the Jimmy V Perseverance Award at the ESPY’s he gave a touching speech about battling a rare form of cancer since 2007. Scott remarked:

When you die, it does not mean that you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and in the manner in which you live.

James posted a picture of himself with Scott where he praised him for being a down to earth anchor. James stated:

Can’t believe you’re gone from us! I am deeply saddened because not only will not be replaced as a anchor or reporter but more than that as a genuine cool person. What u did for our culture, bringing that Swag to reporting can only be copied(which I hear it today on tv watching sports).
