Diem Passes Away After Long Battle With Cancer

She gave it one hell of a fight.

MTV reality star Diem Brown, who rose to fame on the “Real World/Road Rules Challenge,” succumbed to her illnesses earlier today.

Diem was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2005 and triumphantly competed on “Real World/Road Rules Challenge,” a year later debuting her shaved head in an episode that rocked us to the core.

After a long remission period, the cancer returned in 2012. She went into a short remission in 2013. Brown was filming her eighth challenge competition in Panama when she collapsed on set. She was airlifted to a NY hospital, where doctors found that the cancer had returned with a vengeance. It had been found in her stomach and colon and spread to her liver and lymph nodes.

“That was a shocker to me,” she said at the time. “I was blown away. It really crushed a little bit of my spirit.”

Diem’s on-again, off-again boyfriend Chris “C.T.” Tamburello rushed to be by her side after her diagnosis. Two days ago, Diem tweeted, “I NEED PRAyErs and advice my doctors are seemingly giving up but I won’t & can’t rollover. Whatever option I have to LIVE I’m grabbing!”

She passed away this morning in a New York hospital. Diem leaves behind a strong legacy. She founded the site MedGift, that is a complete resource tool for those with a health related hardship or need.

Watch this incredibly touching video of her embracing her bald head after undergoing chemotherapy. RIP Diem.
