MC Lyte Writes A ‘Dear John’ Letter To Black Men

MC Lyte is calling on Black men to take stock of their priorities and be better role models to their children in her new track “Dear John.”

You don’t see much of Lyte in the visual, but what you do see are pictures of great Black men that were able to achieve success while setting a good examples for the community while heading up their own loving families. Jackie Robinson, Frederick Douglass and Malcolm X are just a few of the men featured in video.

Common and 10 Steps also helped out on the song, which asked male listeners whether it was more important to them to be “ballers” or good fathers.
