I’ve always loved getting pretty. In my teens, I’d
steal borrow my mother’s clothes and red lipstick and rock them to school. There’s something about beauty that made it possible for me to transform into this glamorous lively human being.
The video above gives 20 cancer patients a unique makeover experience. While watching, I couldn’t help but remember that moment when I painted my mother’s nails during her chemotherapy. We had been given the worst news possible about my mother’s illness and all she wanted to be was normal. If only for a second!
Just like the women and men highlighted in this video, sometimes just a second of beauty allows you to not only be grateful for the small moments in your life, but you get to escape your current being and enter a world where nothing really matters.
Let’s watch the video above and be grateful for all the moments we get to live carefree.
