Constant divorce rumors haven’t kept music lovers from snagging tickets to see Jay Z and Beyoncé on their tour this summer!
It looks like fans of the Carters couldn’t care less about gossip that their marriage is on the rocks. According to Billboard.com, Beyoncé and her hubby Hov are making out like bandits because ticket sales for their On The Run outing have surpassed $100 million!
Live Nation’s VP of North American Touring Omar Al-Joulani noted that more than 850,000 people have turned out for the North American leg alone. To put it simply, he said, “Everyone’s winning.”
Bey and Jay have also been good for secondary ticket sellers too! TickPick co-founder Brett Goldberg said prices start off high and then keep coming down the further you get from the ticket sale date. They do take a sharp uptick about a month before the event.
“Ticket prices for Jay Z and Beyoncé’s On the Run Tour followed this trajectory, with no conceivable correlation between divorce rumors and ticket prices,” Brett told Forbes.com.
There was one exception to this rule for the Carters. Apparently, skipping Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s wedding resulted in a “notable bump of 25-50% in ticket prices during the time the couple was very famously vacationing in the Hamptons, and some thought, snubbing Kim and Kanye.”
Numbers like that must have put Queen B in a better mood than usual because she was floating on air as her family left San Francisco. “Thank you San Fran! Your city is beautiful. It was the perfect place to complete the best tour of my life! Thank you to all the fans that supported our show,” Beyoncé wrote along with a post Instagram before she jetted off with Jay and their daughter Blue.[protected-iframe id=”47da76799e05e5f44b84f228797d28c0-32316310-45106734″ info=”//instagram.com/p/raN03vvw3-/embed/” width=”612″ height=”710″ frameborder=”0″ scrolling=”no”]
If they are breaking up, at least Beyoncé and Jay Z are going out on top!
While the couple is riding high from the success of their tour, former model Olivia McFallar has decided to add her irrelevant voice to all the noise about their marriage with her new song “Sorry Mrs. Carter.”
On the track, Olivia takes shots at Beyoncé while insisting that she never hooked up with Hov. If you ask her, though, she totally could have if she wanted to! At least that’s what she says in the video below, which was surely shot on someone’s iPhone 3.
