Beyonce is gearing up to take over the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards!

The “Flawless” singer is nominated a whopping eight times, but MTV has announced that she’s already got the night’s top honor in the bag. Bey will receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award — also called the Lifetime Achievement Award — which is given annually to musicians who have made a profound imprint in the industry through music, video and film.Past Vanguard Award winners include: Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey and, of course, Michael Jackson for whom the award was renamed in 1991. We’re sure the unprecedented release of her fifth solo album “Beyonce,” helped secure her place in moonman history!

If that news wasn’t exciting enough, Queen Bey will hit the stage for what we’re sure will be an epic performance! And we’re not talking about one of those Skype dial ins which with  cell phone footage from her “On The Run,” like she pulled at the BET Awards. She’ll be there in the flesh (we know, we know…catch your breath)!  We’ll never forget when she rocked the stage in 2011singing “Love On Top,” with a baby bump we now know as Blue Ivy and we can’t wait to see what she comes with this year!

See Kanye, MTV was going to give Beyonce the recognition she deserves (even it was years after you snatched that mic out of Taylor Swift’s hand).

Be sure to tune in to the 2014 VMAs, Sunday, August 24 on MTV.
