UPDATE: Joke’s still on the Internet…this story is a hoax and “Confused Girl’s” meme lives on.
One Alabama teen is not laughing about the fact that she’s been turned into an Internet meme.
You might know know Kiesha Johnson by name, but you probably recognize her as the “Confused Girl” that pops up all over your home page on Instagram. Users from all over the world have shared the picture of the 16-year-old, and used it with different captions.
Keisha supposedly claims the unflattering candid shot was taken by a friend, and she’s not happy about how the Internet has turned it into a huge joke.
She thinks that her appearance has been grossly misrepresented in the shot. “My face looked ugly like I was about to throw up,” she told OdGossip.com. “I look nothing like that in real life. I’m really a bad b*tch!”
Keisha thinks she’s found a way to get the last laugh. According to CentricTV.com, she’s allegedly suing Instagram for $500 million!
It’s not clear whether she has a solid case because users are individually responsible for the content they post on Instagram, which is a public app. The company has not used the shot for any promotional purposes.
