Last month, we reported that Michelle Williams was gearing up to hit the road for a major North American tour, but unfortunately production for that project has abruptly come to an end.

The former Destiny’s Child singer was cast to play Mary Magdalene in “Jesus Christ Superstar,” a musical about the last days of Jesus. However, production company S2BN announced on Friday that the arena spectacular tour is canceled and all purchased tickets will be refunded.

Options Clause Entertainment LLC, an affiliate of S2BN Entertainment, announced today the cancellation of the Jesus Christ Superstar Arena Spectacular Tour. The tour was scheduled to kick off in New Orleans on June 9. All purchased tickets will be refunded. Tickets purchased online and via telephone will be automatically refunded. Tickets purchased from outlets/venue box office must be returned to that location for refund.

The news came just over a week before Williams and the rest of the star-studded cast was schedule to hit the stage for their first performance. Other famous faces on board for the project were Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd, ‘N Sync’s JC Chasez as Pontius Pilate and reality show winner Ben Forster.
