Diddy isn’t be the only entertainment star to be awarded with an honorary doctorate this graduation season! According to reports, Jill Scott is now en route to her hometown of Philadelphia to receive a Doctor of Humane Letters from her alma mater Temple University.
At the commencement ceremony, which takes place on today (May 15), the singer/actress will be honored for her charitable contributions in the art and music field, just one more accolade to add to her three Grammy awards, three Soul Train awards, NAACP Image Award, and 2001 Lady of Soul “Entertainer of the Year” Award.
Temple University President Neil D. Theobald said her “values and achievements embody the mission and ideas of the university.”
Like Diddy, Scott dropped out of school before graduating. She studied secondary education until she was forced to leave due to financial constraints.
