Hillary Clinton finally revealed that she’s thinking about running for president in the 2016.
The former First Lady and Secretary of State confirmed the unsurprising news at a marketing conference in San Francisco earlier this week. When asked: “What’s your plan? Are you going to do it?” Clinton replied, “I am obviously flattered and deeply honored to have people ask me and people encourage me, and I am thinking about it.”
“But I am going to continue to think about it for a while,” she continued. “Part of it is because the hard questions are not: ‘Do you want to be president? Can you win?’ The hard questions are why. ‘Why would you want to do this and what can you offer that could make a difference?'”
She’s clearly had a change of heart since her January speech in New Orleans, where Clinton told the audience she was “not thinking about” the 2016 presidential election. “I will think about it in the future sometime, but right now let’s think about what we have to do to continue building on our success,” she said, matter-of-factly.
According to CNN, the U.S. senator, who was defeated by President Obama in the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination, “is leading most 2016 polls, is the frontrunner for the Democratic nomination and has a cadre of former advisers orchestrating a shadow campaign for her possible run.”
The 66-year-old politician already has a large following, including the support of Pharrell Williams. In the April issue of GQ, the “Happy” singer explained why the second go-around is going to be a charm for HRC.
“Let me tell you why she’s going to win,” he told the magazine. “Everywhere you go in this country, you have red and blue. You got the Democrats; you got the Republicans. You got the Bloods; you got the Crips. You know what else is red and blue? Blood. Blood is blue in your body until air hits it, and then it turns red. That means there’s unity. There’s gonna be unity.”
He added that her gender and pro-abortion stance as the determining factors for her win. “So when you think about a night where there’s late-night talk-show hosts and it’s mostly women, that’s a different world. Right?,” he said. “A world where 75 percent of the prime ministers and the presidents were women: that’s a different world. That’s gonna happen, and it’s gonna happen when Hillary wins…Hillary’s gonna win. Listen, I’m reaching out to her right now. She’s gonna win.”
So she how long does she need to think? Clinton said, “I’m not going to make a decision for a while because I’m actually enjoying my life. I’m actually having fun.”
