Kerry Washington is totally becoming a best friend in our heads. The mother-to-be showed up to “Ellen” in a modest, yet fierce Shoshanna dress that disguised her baby bump (most of the time), flashing a glowing smile as she giggled at Ellen’s witty jokes. In between chuckles, Kerry explained where “Scandal” writers get their juicy material. “I do think the show is based on their imagination more than real life,” she said.
Afterwards, she and Ellen shared a hearty laugh at the many magazine “covers” Kerry’s landed since Olivia Pope became a household name: Knitting Week, Chess Masters, Pantsuit Monthly and Kale Quarterly, etc. Kerry played along with Ellen’s gestures saying, “Kale is really good for you…Listen you know I’m a Lady Gaga fan, so when she did the meat dress I said I would do the kale dress.”
Kerry admitted that she puts her mom in charge of archiving the glossy books that she covers. “Early on I figured, well you know, I might have a grandchild one day who wants to see this stuff, but I don’t want to live with this stuff in my house. So I send it all to my mother and she archives it. She gets to be proud.”
Speaking of grandchild, mama Kerry must be so elated to have one on the way!
