Rick Ross has been having a very tumultuous year, if only for his controversial choices for his lyrics. When he’s not rapping about raping a young lady, he’s making songs with lyrics referring to Trayvon Martin’s hoodie. It seems good old Rozay is at it again and this time, Trayvon’s friend, Rachel Jeantel gets a shoutout!

One of the quotes we all remember from Rachel’s chilling testimony was the phrase Trayvon used to refer to George Zimmerman on the phone, the night he was followed, “Creepy Ass Cracker.” This is the phrase Ross chose to borrow from Jeantel in his new song, “I Wonder Why.”

“Now I’m being followed by some creepy-ass cracker/

Now I’m being followed by some creepy-ass cracker/

Stand your ground, stand your ground/

Stand your ground, you gotta stand your ground.”

The song uses audio from Rachel’s testimony. Ross told Global Grind that he’s “still angry.” Listen to “I Wonder Why” on The Urban Daily.
