Torrei Hart is heading to reality TV and her ex-husband Kevin Hart is giving her the thumbs up!
Hello Beautiful caught up with funnyman Hart at the Los Angeles premiere of his new movie Let Me Explain, and he revealed that he supports whatever makes the mother of his children happy.
“Hey, she’s working! She’s happy, I’m happy,” he said. “At the end of the day she is a human being, she is the mother of my kids and I want to see her happy. And it seems that she is so I love it.”
As we reported earlier, the mother of 8-year-old Heaven Lee and 5-year-old Hendrix is working on a non-scripted series very similar to VH1’s “Hollywood Exes.”
“The producers of “Hollywood Exes,” we’re working with them right now. We have the cast together, fingers crossed it looks like something will be happening very soon,” Torrei said during a recent interview. “The cast that we put together is a very good cast and its not going to be just like “Hollywood Exes” in that vain. We’re not going to be fighting. It’s gonna be wives, some ex-wives, some big players in Hollywood, real estate money managing people. It’s definitely in that vain, but we’re bringing a whole different twist to it.”
Kevin may not have a problem with his ex-wife being in front of reality TV cameras, but he said his children are off limits.
“How would I feel about my children being on TV? Well, they are children so right now they need to be children. When it is time for them to make those decisions then they can,” he said, but “right now is not the time.”
He added, “My kids are in school and they are happy. Go to camp, go throw some dirt, go play in the backyard. You are not in the business and you don’t need to be in the business right now.”
As far as his stand-up routine, the comedian said he will continue to pull inspiration from his family and life — and often times the means his past relationship with Torrei.
“I think all of my inspiration strictly comes from my life,” he said. “I don’t see me needing to pull it from any place else. At the end of the day, you need to be motivated. You shouldn’t use others to motivate you. They can’t do the work for you; you have to.”
Let Me Explain, Kevin’s second concert film to hit national theaters, was released today.
