The Young Money-Roc Nation duo posted a video of their 1:30 a.m. CD run, where Drake spent a whopping $888.
“Okay, we got every single one,” Drake said.
“I just want to know who’s paying,” J. Cole added as they headed to checkout.
Then, the cashier gave Cole some exciting news. “More people bought your album than Kanye,” she said. ” Ain’t gon’ lie.”
According to Billboard, Cole’s recently-released sophomore album, which dropped the same day as Kanye West’s Yeezus, is expected to sell 280,000 to 300,000 its first week.
“This is art, and I can’t compete against the Kanye West celebrity and the status that he’s earned just from being a genius,” the 28-year-old said. “But I can put my name in the hat and tell you that I think my album is great and you be the judge and you decide.”
