The term was made popular by a group of women called “The Twerk Team.” Their sexy dance routines consisted of rapid and complex booty movements that spawned copycats of all sorts. “Twerking” is now used in aerobics, at the club (of course) and some lonesome souls even twerk while grocery shopping! Now on to the other half of society who thinks twerking needs to end. Twerking isn’t going anywhere because it has been around long before the twerk team coined the phrase. It is simply the way many women have been dancing for years. Yes. I know it’s hard to believe women were booty bouncing long before WorldStarHipHop came into play.But trust me, they have.
