Remember when Nicki Minaj and Hot 97 had that big blow out last summer? Right before she was supposed to hit the stage to perform at Summer Jam. Well, that beef lasted a full year until today, when Nicki visited the Peter Rosenberg morning show earlier. The “Monster” rapper opened up about regretting not going on stage because her fans suffered, spreading herself too thin on her second album and being a complex person who doesn’t box herself into one genre.
The best parts of the interview are how adamant Nicki remained by her points and how deep her words pierced Rosenberg’s outter layer!
4. Never listened to the audio
After the Summer Jam beef went down, Nicki angrily called off her performance. There were a lot of words said about the Barb, but she hasn’t heard any of them! Nicki admitted that she never listened to the actual audio to see for herself, what Rosenberg had said. This is a slap in the face to Rosenberg who shamelessly admitted that their beef had lived on on vibrantly for the last 350 days of his life.
3. Ebro’s “EXTRA” efforts
Well this is just accurate!
After responding to Rosenberg’s poetic rant about how much he never meant to insult her person, Ebro interrupted the dialogue to fix her jacket. Side eye. To which she responded “Ebro, you are so extra.” To take the thirst to next levels, he said “I know how to undress a woman.”
2. She insulted his resume (and character)
“I get it. That’s what you do. I guess, to me, I just don’t know your resume. I never found you funny.I never found you entertaining. I never found you smart. I just found you annoying. I grew up in New York. I’ve grown up on Hot 97. I know Angie, I know Flex and Mister Cee and all these people. Whether they like me or whether or not we get along, I just know their resume. That’s why it was so easy for me to pick up the phone talk to Flex and be like “What the f**k are you talking about?” But, with you I was like ‘Who are you?’ To me you don’t have enough of a resume to make those comments.” Nuff said.
1. She could care less
After Peter Rosenburg confessed how Nicki had become a staple in his life. At his wedding, when her song “Starships” (which was the cause of the entire controversy) was played it was a bigger hoopla than the actual nuptials. And, he mentioned how he met her years before the fame and told her “I think you could be the greatest female emcee of all time.” Anyone else would have possibly broken character and smiled a bit, but not Nicki. She remained stoic and she stared into his eyes as Rosenberg promised he wasn’t lying. “I’m sorry for things going as left as they did,” he finally concluded.
“It’s cool,” she replied. “It’s water under the bridge. It’s so long ago, I can’t even act like I care anymore.”
