Lil Kim Sues Former Lawyer For $1 Million

When it comes to business, Lil Kim plays no games. The Brooklyn-born rapper recently filed a $1 million lawsuit against her former lawyer and business partner Sunny Barkats.

According to the New York Daily News, the 38-year-old says Barkats and his business partner Andrew Ro tricked her into signing a series of bad licensing agreements. Kim’s lawsuit claims the pair gave themselves a large 44% stake in a corporation formed to license her brand names, including liquor, makeup products and fashion endorsements.

When Kim realized the shady business deal in December 2012, she says Barkats refused to rescind the contract.

Barkat responded to the lawsuit by calling it “another frivolous attempt by Lil’ Kim and her attorneys to get out of what is otherwise a binding agreement.” He predicted the court would toss her claim.
