Jesse Jackson Jr. is now in the business of changing his life’s narrative. The former Democratic representative from Illinois, who recently pled guilty to spending $750,000 in campaign funds on personal living expenses, is penning a memoir to “clear up his legacy.”

According to reports, the former Congressman wants to “be remembered for more than just pleading guilty to corruption charges.” Jackson is now following in the footsteps of politicians like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Rod Blagojevich, who both wrote tell-all books after their political sandals and eventual downfalls.
On February 20, Jackson confessed to misusing his campaign funds on personal expenses including Michael Jackson memorabilia, a Rolex watch, a cruise and home furniture. “For years I lived off my campaign,” the 47-year-old said during his court hearing. “I used money I shouldn’t have used for personal purposes.”
Jackson’s wife Sandi, who served as her husband’s campaign manager, is also hot water. Around the same time as Jackson’s confession, she entered into a plea deal of her own, confessing to filing false income tax statements during the time of her husbands’s campaign.
Jackson and his wife are currently awaiting sentencing. In the meanwhile, it looks like he’s turning to pen and paper to start his redemption.
