In the office, demonstrating a care for impact is a way to manage one’s expenses and to encourage a team dynamic of collective responsibility.

One of my favorite work experiences was at a place where every employee was welcomed with a personalized mug. Not only did we reduce the impact of buying and disposing of paper, plastic or Styrofoam cups, but because people valued the mugs, we would offer to fetch and wash each other’s mug as the presence of the company logo reminded us that we were all on the same team.

It was one of the best office experiences because those modern chic ceramic cups pushed coworkers to be better neighbors while cleaning the kitchen and deciding which Keurig to drink.
