HelloBeautiful.com’s “Base Level” column features the hottest new artists we’re buzzing about. Before they make it to the summit of superstardom, we spot them at base level–the beginning of their hopeful journey to the top. This week’ enjoy the youthful vocals from Tinashe.
Tinashe is one of those girls who captivates you with her appearance then secures your fancy with her vocals. You don’t really know what to expect from the petite beauty, something pop-like perhaps… But what you get is something more soulful and kind of eclectic. Tinashe’s debut mixtape in February 2012, “In Case We Die” was an audible story about heartache and vibrant love.
Her single “Boss” was featured on VH1’s scripted drama series “Single Ladies.” Now, the former lead singer of all girl group The Stunners, is ready to shine on her own!
Find out the basics on Tinashe, below:

When did you know that you wanted to be a singer? I’ve known I wanted to be a singer for as long as I can remember.
What was your big break thus far? I think I’ve gotten where I have due to several “big breaks” …without one, I would not have the other. Since I’ve gone solo, my biggest break thus far has been signing to Sony/RCA last summer.
What does your music sound like? My music is rhythmic pop with influences from hip hop and alternative music.
