You woke up early, got the kids to school, worked all day, picked the kids up and before you know it, dinner, baths and bedtime are in order. Where did all of your time go? With all of the craziness of kids, work and home life, sometimes itās tough to catch a break for ourselves let alone our spouses. We usually canāt even find āmeā time so where do we fit them in?

I know, I know, it isnāt easy, but making time for our spouse is needed in order to have a healthy relationship. As much as we hate to admit it, our husbands need just as much attention as our kids (if not more).
I just took a little four-day getaway with my husband this weekend to get away from it all. I canāt begin to explain how much that was needed. Not only did we have a wonderful time getting out of the hustle and bustle of daily life, but we also had a chance to remember why we fell in love with one another in the first place.
Now, I know what some of you are thinkingā¦ āMust be nice, but I canāt afford a getaway.” I have the solution to keep your wallet and your man happy all at the same time.Ā Put the kiddies to bed and create a “getaway” with these three ideas:
Hotel Treatment
Want to really feel like you are away from home? Transform your bedroom into a getaway by setting it up as hotel room, complete with a freshly made bed of white sheets, wine chilling in the ice bucket, dinner (room-service-style) and a āDo Not Disturb” sign on the door. This hotel stay feeling will ignite some of your spontaneity and make you feel just as romantic as if you were away from the kids. Here is a tip: It doesnāt have to be on a weekend. Try this during the week to give you that extra boost to get you to the weekend.
Get A Little Cheesy
Donāt worry if you canāt get to a famous winery, spend less at home and create your own wine bar! Not only do you have the convenience and privacy of being in your own home, you also donāt need a designated driver for this night! Go to your local grocery store (most of them have a cheese section) and pick up a variety of cheeses. Donāt forget the crackers and fruit! Round up a few bottles of your favorite wine and drink up. Play some good music and just enjoy one another’s company.
Rub It On Thick
Ditch the expensive massage and use the hands of the one who knows what you like best! Grab some scented massage oils, light some candles all around and put on your sexiest outfit. Who cares if you donāt know how to massage! They way youāll be looking, you might not even get to the massage part!
