Michelle Obama has been more than a flawless First Lady with arms of steel, to kill for. She’s been a mentor, the face of powerful Black women everywhere (you know, beside Oprah) and a shining light of hope for our future as women of color. It was at that meeting where Mrs. Obama looked at Abena and connected with her as only Black women can and the FLOTUS remained open and candid as she weighed in on President Obama’s first debate of this election, Black women and voting and more.

When asked about President Obama’s debate performance, Michelle said:

“You know I’m biased. I think my husband has done a phenomenal job not just in the debate but over these last three and a half years, and I continue to be in awe with just how poised and consistent and honest he is and his ability to lay out a detailed and common sense plan.”
