President Barack Obama may be in the middle of a re-election, but that doesn’t stop him from listening to the latest in hip hop. Nicki Minaj recently released a remix of Kanye West’s tune, “Mercy” on Lil’ Wayne’s ‘Dedication 4’ mixtape. The song contained lyrics that stood out because they claimed she supported Romney.

“I’m a Republican voting for Mitt Romney. You lazy b*tches is f*cking up the economy.”

All of this is laughable because Nicki’s not even eligible to vote. It’s being reported that Minaj has lived in three different U.S. states and hasn’t registered to vote in either of them. Has anyone even reached out to Minaj to inquire about what she’s trying to do with this strategic lyrical move? I’m so curious to know if this lyric has a motive.

Power 95.3 in Orlando landed a phone interview with the President and they asked him about the questionable lyric and if Sasha and Malia listened to the wig-wearing rapper.

On Sasha & Malia listening to Nicki:

“You know, I don’t know if they really listen to Nicki Minaj that much. But let’s face it, they are now more hipper than me. There’s a certain point where your kids get old enough, where they’re just hipper than you are.”

On listening to hip hop:

“[First Lady] Michelle and I, for folks 50, or folks says, likes to point ‘close to 50’, she’s not 50 yet, we try to keep up and so we’ve got a nice hip-hop collection on our iPods. …”

On Nicki Minaj’s Mitt Romney lyrics:

“Yeah, I’m not sure that’s actually what happened. But I think she had a song on there, a little rap that said that but she likes to play different characters. So I don’t know what’s going on there.”
