How Many Children Does Lauryn Hill Have?

How many children does Lauryn Hill have? Hill has six kids: four sons (Zion, Joshua, John, and Micah) and two daughters (Selah and Sarah). The Fugees singer had five of her children with longtime boyfriend Rohan Marley, the fourth son of reggae legend Bob Marley. The two separated in 2011 after 15 years together, and while some initially believed that Lauryn’s youngest child, Micah—born July 23, 2011—is also Rohan’s, the 37-year-old singer has made it clear he’s not the father.

Hill’s five children with Marley aren’t Rohan’s only offspring. He has two kids from a previous relationship with Geraldine Khawly, who he married in college. While Lauryn sometimes referred to Rohan as her husband, the two never actually tied the knot. In May 2012, Marley announced his engagement to Brazilian model Isabeli Fontana, who many thought he’d left Hill for while she was pregnant with Micah. Hill later came out and denied that rumor.

“Contrary to the numerous reports, Mr. Marley did not abandon me while pregnant with his child,” Hill said, according to HollywoodGossip.com. “We have had long periods of separation over the years but our 5 children together remain a joy to both of us.”

Lauryn has a lot of mouths to feed, which might explain why she’s skipped out on taxes. In June 2012, news broke that the embattled star failed to file on $1.8 million in earning between 2005 and 2008. Explaining herself—sort of—in a Tumblr post, she talked about her move to the “underground.”

“I did whatever needed to be done in order to insulate my family from the climate of hostility, false entitlement, manipulation, racial prejudice, sexism and ageism that I was surrounded by,” she said. “There were no exotic trips, no fleet of cars, just an all out war for safety, integrity, wholeness and health, without mistreatment, denial, and/or exploitation.”
