American Idol Female Contestants Take On Whitney Houston

Last night, American Idol took it there. Where? To Whitney Houston’s classics. There’s certain artists who need to stay primarily untouched in singing competitions because they simply cannot be outdone.

Two of the female contestants last night proved that theory to be true. Elise Testone and Shannon Magrane crashed and burned and Erika Van Pelt was just ok, but three of the others–Hollie Cavanagh, Skylar Layne and Jessica Sanchez all soared and proved that if you’re talented, you can tackle any song, no matter the pressure.
