Becoming a mother is joyful and scary all at the same time. When I found out I was pregnant, I was excited and scared! There was so much to learn that I felt so overwhelmed. What I learned is that pregnancy was the easy part. Go figure!
When you actually have the baby, you have to apply all that you read, all the advice you got and actually care for your child, teach them and love them. This is when the challenge truly begins. As a new mother, you are constantly thinking about if you’re doing everything right–from breastfeeding, nap time, bedtime, potty-training, manners, etc. Everything is so new to you and your child that you are both faced with having to learn new things. This can be very challenging at times.
However, as mothers it’s important for us to remember that motherhood is an experience. Everyday there are new and exciting lessons to be learned. Some may scare the heck out of you, but most will fill you with joy. My advice to new mothers is to take it one day at a time. Enjoy this new experience and learn as you go along. In motherhood, you are going to make mistakes, but it’s those mistakes that make you a better mother.
