Mary J Blige New Song On Her Divorce
Mary J. Blige Addresses Her Divorce In New Song ‘Thick Of It’
Mary J’s been going through it.
In July, Mary J. Blige filed for divorce from her husband of 12 years, Kendu Isaacs, and recently she found herself in a social media firestorm when people criticized her for a song she sang in a Hillary Clinton promotional video. Despite all the drama, Mary J. is continuing to push forward.
After performing “Thick Of It” at a show earlier this month, Mary finally released the CDQ version of the song.
“What a hell of a year/ If I make it through hell and I come out alive I got nothing to fear,” she sings. “No more crying and trying/ And bring back this loving when nothing is here/ Let me be clear/ I wasn’t perfect/ But this shit ain’t worth it.”
Thick Of It will be featured on Mary’s forthcoming Strength Of A Woman LP, which boasts features from Kanye West and Jazmine Sullivan. Mary will also hit the road on a collaborative King + Queen Of Hearts tour with R&B veteran Maxwell.
