Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton just got one huge endorsement.

On Sunday, basketball great LeBron James penned an essay for The Business Insider explaining why he is with her.

I support Hillary because she will build on the legacy of my good friend, President Barack Obama. I believe in what President Obama has done for our country and support her commitment to continuing that legacy,” he wrote.

Like my foundation, Hillary has always been a champion for children and their futures. For over 40 years, she’s been working to improve public schools, expand access to health care, support children’s hospitals, and so much more” the Cleveland Cavaliers forward added.

In addition, he applauded the former Secretary of State for taking education seriously, saying she strives to ensure that all children regardless of their zip code will receive quality schooling and that she wants to make college a reality for all Americans. He also believes that she will help address the crippling violence in Black communities.

I believe rebuilding our communities by focusing on at-risk children is a significant part of the solution. However, I am not a politician, I don’t know everything it will take finally to end the violence. But I do know we need a president who brings us together and keeps us unified. Policies and ideas that divide us more are not the solution. We must all stand together — no matter where we are from or the color of our skin. And Hillary is running on the message of hope and unity that we need,” he wrote.

Well done. Now only if James would say that “Black Lives Matter.”

Le Sigh…Donald Trump Implies That Vets With PTSD Aren’t ‘Strong’

GOP Presidential nominee Donald Trump started this week off in the same horrible form as he did last week—by continuing to offend pretty much about everyone. This time his target were the brave and courageous Americans who risk their lives everyday to protect this nation’s freedom.

Speaking in front a veterans group in Virginia, when talking about the suicide epidemic among vets, the businessman implied that veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) weren’t “strong.”

When you talk about the mental health problems, when people come back from war and combat and they see things that maybe a lot of folks in this room have seen many times over and you’re strong and you can handle it but a lot of people can’t handle it. They see horror stories, they see events you couldn’t see in a movie, nobody would believe it” he said.

Obviously, these statements are problematic, especially since Trump has never served in the U.S.military and even dodged the Vietnam War draft in the 1960s. But his comments also undermine the trauma that soldiers experience and continues to perpetuate the myth that only weak-willed people suffer from mental health issues, which we know is not true. And as expected, the backlash was pretty swift.

Of course, Trump’s surrogates said the Republican nominee’s comments were taken out of context, and blamed the media for construing his words, CNN noted.

Texas Sonic Drive-In Customers Upset at ‘Racist’ Receipts

A Fort Worth man is demanding answers after he and his friend say that the receipts for their Friday lunch included racial slurs, The Root reported.

According to Tyrone Moseley, he and a co-worker stopped at the Texas Sonic drive-in and ordered on the patio, where, Moseley the server took their order but didn’t ask for their names, which was unusual since that’s usually been his experience. Yet, after receiving their meals, the noticed that his receipt had the word “n%gga” on it where the name would normally be located. His friend’s said “Mexican.”

“One of the workers, she came outside. I asked her and said, ‘Do you know anything about this? Is this how y’all put the name of your customers on your receipt?’ She was like, ‘Ugh… no.’ But then she kind of giggled and just walked off and kept going,” he told Fox4News.

Moseley also noted that they person who took his order was also African-American.

“I try not to use that word, and I know where it comes from,” he said. “It kind of bothers me for your own kind to call you that. Especially at a place of business. Especially where I spend my money at” he added.

When pressed about the incident, Sonic released a statement following to Fox4News:

We understand that a carhop wrote an offensive word on one customer’s receipt and a different offensive word on another customer’s receipt. The franchisees who own and operate this drive-in consider such behavior to be completely unacceptable. They have already investigated the matter and report that the carhop is no longer employed by the drive-in.”
