Some family dynamics are odd. Some family dynamics are hostel. And then there are the Kardashians.

The K Klan got together this weekend to celebrate Rob Kardashian’s 29th birthday with a dinner at Nobu Malibu. In attendance were Kim Kardashian West, Kanye West, Kourtney Kardashian, Scott Disick, Kylie Jenner, Tyga, Kris Jenner and Kendall Jenner. Essentially everybody except Khloe Kardashian (who was sick) and Caitlyn Jenner (who was a no-show).

Oh, and Rob’s new girlfriend Blac Chyna. You know, the ex-girlfriend/baby’s mother of Rob’s little sister’s boyfriend.

In her defense Chyna did spend the week with Rob at Legoland California with her son King Cairo, 3, and later went out for In n Out burgers.

As reported by a source to PEOPLE, “It really seemed like a fun celebration.” Adding, “There was no tension and everyone enjoyed themselves. They all sang ‘Happy Birthday’ and gave Rob a cake with a picture of his face. Rob looked and seemed very happy.”

Each family member shared Snapchats and Instagram photos of the occasion, including a square cake with a throwback photo of Rob’s face on it.

While we can’t imagine what the conversation was between Tyga and Rob, it is nice that the family —despite who they chose to lay with— is getting along.

All of the Kardashian women have yet to comment on Rob’s relationship with Blac Chyna, but from her lack of presence we get the feeling that the elephant in the room was forgotten for the evening.

Honestly, your guess is as good as ours in terms of the inner workings of this family. All we know is that theoretically, blood is thicker than water so we’d expect them to support Rob, whoever he chooses to date.

Just look at how happy he is with his new boo!
