Essence Fest Is Going To Be Lit: Mariah Carey, Kendrick Lamar & More Announced As Performers

Essence announced its annual Essence Festival lineup and New Orleans is about to be so lit. The star-studded lineup includes: Mariah Carey, Kendrick Lamar, Maxwell, Ciara, Charlie Wilson, Tyrese, Faith Evans, New Edition and Babyface on their main stage. Other performers like Lion Babe, Dej Loaf and Tink will make their first appearance at the festival.
“The ESSENCE Festival is back in New Orleans with an extraordinary roster of the biggest names and best performers in entertainment—from global music icons to the industry’s rising stars,” Michelle Ebanks, ESSENCE President, said in a press release. “We are welcoming Kendrick Lamar, Mariah Carey and Maxwell to headline the Superdome main stage. In addition, we will be embracing newcomers like Leon Bridges, Jeremih, Lion Babe, Dej Loaf and The Internet, as well as fan favorite Charlie Wilson for the ultimate cultural experience in New Orleans this July 4th weekend.”
