Albany Students Who Claimed They Were Victims Of A Racial Attack Will Now Be Charged For Assault

Three SUNY Albany students who reported they were victims of a racially charged attack will soon be facing charges, New York Daily News reports.
We previously reported that three students, Alexis Briggs, from Huntington, Ariel Agudio, from Elmira Heights, and Asha Burwell, from Huntington Station, claimed that a dozen white classmates jumped them while they were on a bus.
Authorities are now saying the girls made up the incident.
The alleged attack led to a rally on campus. Even Hillary Clinton got on the bandwagon tweeting, “There’s no excuse for racism and violence on a college campus.”
But the investigation revealed the women were actually the aggressors in the altercation.
Eyewitness interviews along with surveillance footage solidified the investigation. Police are saying “students were never targeted in any manner due to their race.”
Each student will face their day in court on Monday.
If these charges are real, it’s really disappointing that these women were leverage racial tension to their own advantage.
We will be keeping an eye on this one though.
