“Affluenza” Teen Continues To Evade The Law

Ethan Couch made national headlines in 2013 when he received probation after killing four people in a drunk driving accident. Couch’s defense attorney’s coined the term “affluenza” to refer to the then 16-year-olds privileged lifestyle where his parents had failed to teach him right from wrong. Couch was recently seen in a video at a party where he appeared to be drinking alcohol, a violation of his probation. The next day he and his mother, Tonya Couch fled their native Texas and were apprehended in Mexico. The maximum sentence a judge can give Couch is imprisonment in a juvenile detention center until he turns 19 which is on April 11, 2016. Presidential Race Gets Tighter

Former New York Gov. George Pataki is dropping out of the 2016 presidential race. Unofficial poll numbers put Pataki at 0% of Republican support behind Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and the ever controversial Donald Trump. Pataki, who governed over New York from 1995-2006 struggled to raise enough money to compete with the slew of candidates. He also entered the race relatively late having missed some early filling deadlines for primary states. No word yet on who he plans to endorse. On the Democratic side, former Maryland Governor, Martin O’Malley has a little more skin in the game than Pataki but he’s still a long shot candidate. O’Malley has yet to concede even though he only has 4.7% of support via polling numbers, He’s over 50 points behind front runner, Hillary Clinton. He recently made headlines after fellow candidate Bernie Sanders declined to debate with him. {Suntimes Network}
