Idris Elba Joins Cast Of ‘Star Trek Beyond’ And You Could Win A Walk-On Role
There was speculation back in the spring that Idris ElBAE Idris Elba would be joining the cast of Star Trek Beyond. Guess what? It’s official! There’s also a chance for fans to meet him and the rest of the cast by winning a walk-on role in the next film.
Cast members Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, and John Cho starred in the video you see above telling viewers to they support the cast’s charity initiative at omaze.com for a chance to win a role. Idris Elba popped up toward the end of the video (along with our other baes, Chris Pine, and John Cho), so now we know it’s real.
There still isn’t any info about his role (IMDB has his character’s name blank), but we hope he gets significant screen time. Star Trek Beyond is set for release on July 8, 2016.
