Our Boyfriend Idris Elba Is In Talks To Star In ‘The Alchemist’ Movie

Black Hollywood is making moves! The Weinstein Company is considering Idris Elba to star in The Alchemist, according to Deadline. That’s not all, Laurence Fishburne is up for consideration as director of the film.
What had happened was…
Harvey Weinstein announced that he would be working with Fishburne on the film back in 2008. However, production was placed on hold after the company grappled with financial issues, and Fishburne dropped out of the project.
But it looks like The Weinstein Company found some money, because the production is back on. TWC is hoping to start filming as early as 2016.
For those who may not know, The Alchemist tells the tale of of a Spanish shepherd named Santiago who is on a quest to uncover his personal destiny, based on Paulo Coelho’s critically acclaimed novel, originally published in 1988.
No deals have been closed as of yet, but we’ll keep praying that Idris deal goes through. You know how we like to look at him, and stuff…
