MUSIC ROUNDUP: Trey Songz Drops Steamy 'Smartphones' Video & MORE!
PRESS PLAY: Trey Songz Takes Us On An Emotional Roller Coaster In New Video ‘Smartphones’
Trey Songz unleashed the visual for his new record “Smartphones” on his mobile web app last night and it’s a must-see!
Directed by Gil Green and the R&B crooner himself, the black-and-white video stays true to the song’s lyrics. It follows Trigga as he tries to win back his girl after a crazy night of drinking, cheating and pocket dialing — as he says in the song, “smartphone, dumb sh”t.”
“These phones are so smart in all that they do, that it’s like they’re an extension of our brain, but what they can’t do is always prevent human error and human nature,” he said in a recent interview with Mashable. “The mistakes that we as humans make, the relationships that we make and we break, no amount of technology can save.”

The video’s leading lady is a beautiful, fresh new face. She’s an actress and recording artist who goes by Kiersey Clemons. You may remember her from Disney’s “Austin & Ally” and “Shake It Up.
“Smartphones” is the follow-up track to “NaNa.” Both songs are featured on Trey’s upcoming studio album Trigga, which hits stores on July 1st.
